28% lower cost
  • 28% lower cost in waste recycling.
  • Achieved without changing supplier.

Carglass works with vehicle glass, a business where waste handling is a running operational cost rather than a strategic procurement category. It is also a typical example of a cost that is rarely revisited: the contract works, collections happen, and the invoice passes without challenge.

ERA Group reviewed the category using category specialists and market data, and was able to show that the cost level did not reflect what the market allowed. The result was achieved without replacing the supplier, which is worth noting: the improvement sat in the terms and the design of the service, not in moving the volume.

The case study is published by ERA Group. JMF Europe presents it here as an example of how a category can be revisited without disrupting operations.

Why it is relevant

Relevant for businesses with multiple sites or workshops where waste and recycling are handled locally and rarely reviewed centrally.

This is an ERA Group case study, not an assignment carried out by JMF Europe. JMF Europe works within ERA Group and uses the same methodology, category specialists and market data. The results relate to that company's circumstances and are not an outcome promise.

We briefly look at which external costs are most relevant and decide together whether any category is worth exploring further. No preparation needed.
