- Simpler administration and fewer points of contact.
Lärande i Sverige operates schools in several locations. In decentralised organisations purchasing often happens locally and for good reasons — it is fast and works day to day — but the consequence is a large number of suppliers with no consolidated overview.
ERA Group mapped the spend and consolidated a fragmented supplier base from around twenty suppliers to one main provider. The cost level fell by around 30%, but part of the value sits outside price: fewer invoices, fewer points of contact and simpler administration for the organisation.
The case study is ERA Group's own and is available as a PDF in Swedish. JMF Europe summarises it here.
Why it is relevant
Relevant for decentralised organisations — schools, care providers, municipal companies — where local purchasing has produced many suppliers and weak consolidated visibility.
This is an ERA Group case study, not an assignment carried out by JMF Europe. JMF Europe works within ERA Group and uses the same methodology, category specialists and market data. The results relate to that company's circumstances and are not an outcome promise.
